“Navaho” is a variety of Blackberry grown for its heavy crops of medium-sized fruit. The superior fruit in summer are juicy and result from white flowers produced in spring on two-year old wood. It grows with multiple, upright, thornless stems emerging from a central clump. They carry mid green foliage which may fall in colder environments during winter. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 1.2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary though a support structure is generally required to contain them and avoid stems breaking. Best fruiting performance is achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. “Navaho” is commonly grown for fruit production, added into a mixed planting, or used to attract birds.
