Apple Splendour Details

The Splendour apple tree bears large sized fruit in autumn. The fruit are red with flesh that is crisp, juicy, and very flavoursome, and are great for eating fresh. The M9 rootstock keeps this deciduous tree to about 3 m tall and 2.5 m wide, though it can be trimmed as necessary. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to produce fruit. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, though a late frost in spring can reduce yields. Splendour apple trees are commonly planted for fruit production, included in a mixed planting, or maintained in a courtyard garden.
