Phormium ‘Bronze’ is a variety of Flax that produces long and broad, sword like leaves that are varying shades of brown and bronze. This Flax typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 2 m wide with a tidy and compact habit. It performs best and produces the most intense leaf colourings when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, coastal conditions, wind, poor soils, cool climates, and partial shade conditions. Phormium ‘Bronze’ is a versatile plant makes a fantastic addition to mixed plantings and coastal gardens. It is commonly planted around water features, pool and barbecue areas, or other living areas. It is also well suited for mass planting on a bank and in these situations provides an impressive display.
