Plants such as Camellias, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Daphne’s, Gardenia’s, and Hydrangea’s all prefer an acidic soil. We have specifically blended fertilisers to cater for such plants that also reduces the risk of injury to plants through being applied too heavily. Our blend has a NPK rating of 4.1:6.4:5 with sulphur levels at 19.7 and contains a mix of essential trace elements. For planting or general fertilising, we recommend mixing or spreading about half a cup full (about 120 grams) per plant. To correct for alkalinity issues, we recommend a full cup full be applied evenly across 1m2 and watered in. It may take 3-months or longer for an alkalinity issue to correct and only after that period should more fertiliser be applied. Heavier applications can be used if there are no plants growing.
