Slender Tree Fern, Gully Tree Fern
Cyathea cunninghamii, commonly known as the Gully Tree Fern, produces a tall and slender, brown trunk and can grow up to 15 m tall with a spread of 6 m. The dark green fronds are soft and delicate, and held horizontally as they radiate from the top of the trunk. Cyathea cunninghamii is well-suited to cool and damp areas and is excellent for providing a sub-tropical feel to a garden. It is also used for revegetation projects, added to native gardens, used in woodland gardens, planted alongside streams, or included in a mixed planting to provide height and texture.
