Blechnum chambersii is an attractive NZ native fern. It has deep green, lance shaped fronds about 15 to 50 cm long. It is usually found in heavily shaded areas where moisture is plentiful and will grow compactly and somewhat slowly to about 20 cm tall and 50 cm wide. It performs best in shaded environments that do not dry out. This fern is great for woodland plantings or for creating an enchanted walkway.
