Five-Finger Fern, Western Maidenhair Fern
Adiantum aleuticum, commonly known as the Western Maidenhair Fern or Five-Finger Fern, carries attractive, soft, mid-green foliage. The new fronds unfold from wiry, purple-black stems. It grows as a clump to about 50 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in light shade with good moisture and shelter. Adiantum aleuticum is commonly used as a potted plant and is ideal for indoor conditions. For outdoor planting it is ideal for planting beneath larger trees and shrubs, for shaded areas, or for planting around pool or barbecue areas.
