“Pride of Madeira” is a stunning evergreen shrub popular for both its foliage and dramatic flowers. It has grey-green leaves that grow as large and broad rosettes around the stems. In spring and summer, large flower spikes made up of tiny, blue flowers form at the end of the stems and rise above the foliage. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 2 m wide, growing best on a well-drained site in full sun. It is a hardy plant and will cope with frost, dry periods, and coastal environments. This is a great plant for coastal gardens, mixed plantings, planting on a bank, or using as a backdrop for smaller plants. This is a bold and beautiful plant that provides year round pleasure.
