The result is a tree with a somewhat layered appearance. It grows densely with a narrow habit to about 12 m tall and 3 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this evergreen are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, cool climates, coastal environments, and short periods of dry. Thuja Green Giant is commonly grown as a specimen, used as a screen, planted as a backdrop for smaller plants, or trimmed into a hedge.
