Thuja occidentalis Rheingold is dwarf conifer grown for its bright and colourful foliage. The leaves are golden yellow and take on copper tones during winter. The foliage is soft and feathery in appearance, and has a lovely aroma when brushed against. It grows as a rounded shape to about 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, coastal environments, and short periods of dry. Thuja Rheingold is commonly included in a mixed or border planting, used in rock gardens, maintained in a container, planted around outdoor living areas, planted to brighten a dull corner, or trimmed for a more formal look.
