Juniperus squamata Gold Flash is an upright conifer with variegated foliage. It carries fine, needle like foliage that is blue across the entire plant except for the branch tips which are golden yellow. The display is quite unique. It grows with an upright, somewhat open, vase shape to about 2 m tall and the same wide. Best performance with this conifer is achieved when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of dry conditions but not of prolonged wet soils. It is also tolerant of frost, coastal conditions, and cold environments. Juniperus squamata Gold Flash is commonly included in mixed plantings, planted to provide year-round interest, or grown as a specimen.
