Juniperus scopulorum Gray Gleam is an upright conifer that grows with a broad, pyramidal shape. It carries fine and delicate, grey-silver foliage on branches which are held somewhat loosely from the central core. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 2.5 m wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of dry conditions but not of prolonged wet soils.
