“Swanes Golden” is a conifer with dense, golden yellow foliage. It grows as a slim column carrying foliage held as short sprays on erect branches. This evergreen is often referred to as the Pencil Cypress and can grow to 15 m tall and just 75 cm wide though is generally trimmed to shorter heights. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site and is tolerant of dry periods and moderate frost. The Pencil Cypress is valued for its slender, upright habit that brings an architectural effect and is great for bringing height and depth to plantings. It is perfect for planting in a series or as pillars at an entranceway.
