Cryptomeria japonica Jindai is a small, evergreen tree, reaching about 3 m tall and 2 m wide. This cultivar grows with a loose, conical shape and carries fine, light green foliage which tends to be darker towards the centre of the tree. It tolerates a wide range of conditions but does best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cold climates, exposed conditions, coastal environments, and dry periods. Cryptomeria japonica Jindai is commonly grown as a specimen, used as backdrop for smaller plants, or added into mixed plantings in a large garden.
