“Barrys Silver” is a conifer grown for its attractive colouring and dense growth habit. The foliage is fine and “soft” in appearance with new foliage being variegated cream-white before aging to silver. It grows with a conical shape to about 2 m tall and 80 cm wide with best performance achieved on a well-drained site in full sun. It is tolerant of frost, coastal environments, and cool conditions. This low maintenance conifer is commonly grown as a specimen, grown in a container, added to mixed plantings, or planted alongside an entranceway. It also makes for a fabulous living Christmas tree.
