Cephalotaxus harringtonia Fastigiata, commonly known as the Japanese Plum Yew, is a slow growing conifer grown for its unique foliage. This evergreen produces dark green, needle like foliage which is arranged in a spiral on erect stems. New foliage is distinctively lighter in colour giving the plant a two-toned colouring for large parts of the year as it grows to 2.5 m and 1 m wide. Cephalotaxus harringtonia Fastigiata is commonly grown in a container, added to a mixed planting, grown as an informal hedge, or grown as a specimen.
