Abies koreana Silberperle is a miniature variety of the commonly known, Korean Fir, and is a spectacular conifer. It produces very short, dark green, needle-like foliage. The foliage often has a slight twist to reveal the silver underside. It produces resin covered buds which give the appearance of silver pearls and add extra interest to this plant. This small tree typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 80 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site with good summer moisture. It is tolerant of cool climates, frost, coastal conditions, and dry periods. Abies koreana Silberperle is an interesting conifer that is well suited to adding to a mixed planting or including in a rock garden.
