Commonly known as the Potato Vine, this is an evergreen climber grown for its attractive, long-lasting flowers and impressive foliage. Small and white, potato like flowers are borne from spring through autumn, and sit neatly alongside the glossy, dark green leaves. It will grow to 5 m tall but is often contained with trimming. This is a hardy plant that can be grown on almost any soil type, climate, and position. Best results, however, will be achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. This is a popular choice among gardeners due to both its beauty and resilience. For these reasons this climber if often used where a lovely plant is required that can take a lot of abuse and is great for growing over unsightly objects or fences. It is very fashionable in cottage and “white” gardens.
