Plumbago auriculata is an evergreen that grows with a sprawling habit and bears pretty flowers. If unsupported it will grow as a rounded shrub to about 1.5 m high and wide. If it can climb a trellis or other structure it can reach 4 m. It features lush, mid-green foliage which becomes adorned with clusters of blue flowers from summer through autumn. Best performance with this plant is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, cool climates, and dry periods. This Plumbago is commonly grown as a stand-alone mound in a mixed planting, planted as a ground cover, trained on a trellis, included in a cottage garden, or planted so it can spill over a wall or path.
