“Sun Parasol” is a variety of the commonly known, Chilean Jasmine, and is a vigorous, evergreen climber featuring magnificent flowers. It produces showy, dark red flowers amidst the glossy, green leaves from spring through late summer. The foliage is held off thin, wiry stems which wrap around support structures as it climbs. It typically grows to 3 m tall but can easily be contained with trimming. Best performance with this plant is achieved when grown on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is tolerant of frost once established and in cold climates it may become deciduous. This Mandevilla makes a lovely climber and is perfect for growing over trellises and fences. It is often used in cottage and subtropical gardens, and is well suited to planting around outdoor living areas.
