Hydrangea seemanii is a rare and interesting Hydrangea from Mexico. It grows as an evergreen climber and features large, serrated, dark green leaves. Masses of white flowers open from large buds from summer until autumn. It typically grows to 10 m tall but is usually contained with trimming to about 3 m tall and wide. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site that is frost free. Hydrangea seemanii makes for a wonderful climber is often trained over pergolas or fences. It is commonly included in a cottage or “white” garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.
