Hops Smooth Cone

“Smooth Cone” is a variety of Hops grown for its mild and fruity flavoured cones which are often used in craft beer making. This vine grows vigorously from a crown and produces multiple stems which carry lush, mid-green foliage. During summer it produces flowers (cones) which are harvested and dried when used for brewing. This vine will grow to 6 m tall and is often cut back to the crown in winter so it can regrow in spring. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and will tolerate moderate frost and short periods of dry. “Smooth Cone” is often grown specifically for its cones and is usually planted so it can climb a trellis or other support structure.
