Bougainvillea 'Saffron'

How to grow Bougainvillea 'Saffron' in NZ

Bougainvillea 'Saffron' grows best in full sun and free-draining soil. It prefers warm, sheltered locations such as north-facing walls or sunny patios. Water regularly when young to establish strong roots, then reduce watering once established. Light pruning after flowering helps to maintain shape and encourage new growth. In cooler regions, grow it in a pot that can be moved to a frost-free spot over winter.

Bougainvillea 'Saffron' care tips

Caring for Bougainvillea 'Saffron' is easy with the right approach. Water sparingly, as this plant prefers dry conditions once established. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring and summer to promote strong growth and vibrant colour. Prune lightly after each flowering flush to encourage new blooms and maintain a tidy shape. Provide sturdy support for climbing. With good sunlight and minimal care, it will flourish beautifully.
