Bougainvillea 'Panda'

How to grow Bougainvillea 'Panda' in NZ

Plant Bougainvillea 'Panda' in a sunny, well-drained position where it receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day. It thrives in warm, frost-free climates, though it can be grown in containers and moved to shelter in cooler areas. Once established, it is drought-tolerant but benefits from deep watering during extended dry spells to promote flowering.

Bougainvillea 'Panda' care tips

Fertilise with a high-potassium fertiliser during the flowering season to encourage an abundance of blooms. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and promote new growth. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers, as these encourage leafy growth rather than flowers.

Bougainvillea 'Panda' size, spacing, and growth rate

Bougainvillea 'Panda' can grow 1.5-2 tall and 2 m wide, depending on how it is trained and pruned. Space plants 2–3 m apart for optimal coverage.
