The Carmencita Bougainvillea grows compactly with few thorns, yet produces impressive flowers. Through summer it bears outstanding, bright pink flowers which are complemented with fresh-green foliage. This evergreen typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide without a support structure but much larger when it has something to climb. Without support it will grow more like a groundcover. It grows best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in either full sun or partial shade. It will tolerate light frost once established and in such environments in may become deciduous or partially evergreen. The Carmencita Bougainvillea is commonly used as a small climber, added to mixed plantings, used as a groundcover, or planted anywhere the beauty of this plant can be enjoyed.
