Seminole is a popular variety of Tangelo that bears bright red-orange fruit that are semi-flat, very juicy, and rich in flavour. The skin is thin and easy to peel with fruit becoming ripe when the skin begins to fade, usually in spring. This vigorous tree fruits prolifically and typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Seminole is well suited to the home garden and is commonly grown for fruit production, added to a mixed planting, maintained in a container, grown as an informal hedge, added to a courtyard garden, planted around outdoor living areas, or grown as a specimen.

Tangelo Seminole Details

Seminole is a popular variety of Tangelo that bears bright red-orange fruit that are semi-flat, very juicy, and rich in flavour. The skin is thin and easy to peel with fruit becoming ripe when the skin begins to fade, usually in spring. This vigorous tree fruits prolifically and typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site that is slightly acidic and well-sheltered. It will tolerate moderate frost as well as short periods of dry but should be protected while it establishes. Seminole is well suited to the home garden and is commonly grown for fruit production, added to a mixed planting, maintained in a container, grown as an informal hedge, added to a courtyard garden, planted around outdoor living areas, or grown as a specimen.
