The long and somewhat narrow leaves are blue-green, fleshy, and have sharp, brown teeth. Clusters of small, dark orange-brown flowers are borne in winter, and tend to resemble a cat’s tail. Aloe castanea, commonly known as Cat Tail Tree, is a shrub or tree-like Aloe that grows to 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide with a single stem. The long and somewhat narrow leaves are blue-green, fleshy, and have sharp, brown teeth. Clusters of small, dark orange-brown flowers are borne in winter, and tend to resemble a cat’s tail.
