Aeonium arboreum Details

Aeonium arboreum, commonly known as the Irish Rose, is a popular and stunning succulent. It has fleshy, light green leaves that are arranged in a geometric pattern. It grows as a multi-trunked plant with bare stems to about 70 cm tall and the same wide. Large panicles of bright yellow flowers are often borne in the spring. For best results plant in full sun on a well-drained site, noting that plants are tolerant of light frost only once established and require protection from wind. They are, however, tolerant of dry soils and coastal environments. Aeonium arboreum is excellent for growing in a container, planting in the more arid parts of the garden, including in rock gardens, or for using in modern gardens where something unusual yet symmetrical is required.
