Tulip 'Pink Impression'

How to grow Tulip 'Pink Impression' in NZ

Tulip 'Pink Impression' grows best in full sun with fertile, free draining soil. Plant the bulbs in autumn around 0.1 to 0.15 m deep with the pointed end facing upwards, spacing them approximately 0.1 to 0.15 m apart. Water after planting to settle the soil, then keep the ground lightly moist while active growth is underway. Avoid waterlogged conditions, particularly through winter. A sunny position encourages strong stems and good flowering. In warmer regions, choose the coolest suitable garden position and ensure excellent drainage to support a reliable spring display.

Tulip 'Pink Impression' care tips

Tulip 'Pink Impression' is easy to care for when planted in a sunny, well drained position. Apply a bulb fertiliser in autumn or early spring to support healthy foliage and strong flowering. Water during prolonged dry periods while the leaves are active, but avoid keeping the soil constantly wet. Remove spent flowers after blooming if desired, but allow the foliage to remain until it yellows naturally so energy can return to the bulbs. Once dormant, reduce watering and leave the bulbs undisturbed unless lifting is required.

Tulip 'Pink Impression' size, spacing, and growth rate

Tulip 'Pink Impression' typically grows to around 0.5 to 0.6 m tall when flowering, with strong stems rising above broad green foliage. Growth is moderate and seasonal, with fresh leaves emerging before the flower stems develop in spring. Space bulbs approximately 0.1 to 0.15 m apart for natural growth, or plant them more closely for a denser colour display. With suitable light, moisture, and drainage, Tulip 'Pink Impression' develops into a bold spring feature with large pink blooms and sturdy upright stems.
