Daffodil Hawera
Hawera is a popular variety of miniature Daffodil that features masses of lemon-yellow flowers. The showy blooms are borne on slender stems through early to mid-spring above the lush, grass-like foliage. The combination of flowers and dark green leaves is impressive and lets you know spring has arrived. This perennial plant typically grows to 20 cm tall and 15 cm wide, performing best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, frost, cool climates, and will die back during these times to regrow when conditions start to warm. Hawera is commonly included in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, used in border plantings, planted around the base of deciduous trees and shrubs, or maintained in a container. A mass planting is a must with this variety with bulbs spaced 10 cm apart and planted 8-10 cm deep.
