Pomegranate Eversweet, commonly known as the Pomegranate tree, is grown for its flowers and delicious fruit. Upright branches carry large, orange-red blooms in late spring which then result in large, red fruit in autumn. The fruit are often used for making pomegranate jams and juices. The foliage on this deciduous plant emerges bronze then ages to green before yellowing and falling. In warmer climates it will often remain evergreen. It will grow to about 3 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best in a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun, and is tolerant of frosts and cool climates. Pomegranate Eversweet is commonly added to a mixed planting, grown as a specimen, planted specifically for fruit production, or trimmed into a hedge.
