Blackberry Thornless Jewel Details

Blackberry Thornless Jewel is grown for its fruit and obvious lack of thorns. It produces juicy, black berries in summer. The flowers are white and produced in spring on two-year old wood. It grows with multiple, upright stems emerging from a central clump. They carry mid green foliage which may fall in colder environments during winter. It typically grows to 1.8 m tall and 1.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary though a support structure is generally required to contain them and avoid stems breaking. Best fruiting performance is achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site.
