Finding the right spot for your daphne bush is essential for enjoying their spectacular fragrance and brilliant blooms year after year. Daphne bushes are elegant, compact shrubs prized by New Zealand gardeners for their captivating scent and graceful flowers. But before making a purchase, you might be asking: where to plant a daphne bush to help it truly thrive?

Daphne Perfume Princess produces masses of highly fragrant, blush-pink flowers from mid-winter through spring. It grows with a rounded shape and carries leathery, glossy, dark green leaves as it grows to 1 m tall and the same wide. Daphne Perfume Princess is commonly planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, included in mixed and border plantings, maintained in a container, added to cottage gardens, or planted close to a window or door so the fragrance can fill the house.

Using fertiliser for acid loving plants is important for plants such as Camellias, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Daphne’s, Gardenia’s, and Hydrangea’s who all prefer an acidic soil. The Plant Company has specifically blended fertilisers to cater for such plants that also reduces the risk of injury to plants through being applied too heavily. Our blend has a NPK rating of 4.1:6.4:5 with sulphur levels at 19.7 and contains a mix of essential trace elements.
