Why Rhododendrons Are a Favourite Choice

Rhododendrons are renowned for their stunning clusters of blooms, generous foliage, and versatility in the garden. From low border plants to majestic shrubs, these acid-loving beauties thrive in New Zealand’s temperate climate. When deciding where to buy rhododendron, consider the plant’s mature size, bloom colour, and flowering period, so you can select varieties that suit your vision.

Our Top Rhododendron Varieties

We’re passionate about rhododendrons, which is why our nursery offers a curated selection highlighting the best for Kiwi gardens. Whether you crave early spring colour or late season interest, you’ll find distinctive options here:

How to Choose the Right Rhododendron for Your Garden

When browsing for where to buy rhododendron, think about your garden’s light, soil, and space. Rhododendrons prefer slightly acidic, free-draining soil rich in organic matter. They’ll flower best in dappled shade with shelter from strong winds. If space is tight, select compact varieties like Rhododendron Unique. For larger landscapes, bolder shrubs such as Rhododendron Mt Everest add height and texture.
