Why Choose the Princess Diana Rose

The Princess Diana rose is admired for good reason. It showcases romantic, semi-double pink blooms with a light fragrance, flowering from late spring right through summer. Its vigorous climbing ability is perfect for transforming vertical spaces into fragrant walls of colour. With proper care, this rose resists common diseases, making it as rewarding as it is beautiful. It’s ideal for large containers, feature plantings, or to add a soft burst of colour amongst classic shrubs and evergreens.

Where to Buy Princess Diana Rose in New Zealand

When considering where to buy Princess Diana rose, it’s important to choose reputable nurseries that supply genuine, healthy roses suited for New Zealand’s climate. Look for nurseries that guarantee well-established roots and provide tips on care and planting. Many specialist plant nurseries offer delivery throughout the country, making it easier than ever to receive premium rose varieties like Princess Diana. Shop during the bare-root season in winter or opt for potted plants in spring and autumn for best results.

Companion Plants to Enhance Your Garden

Pairing your Princess Diana rose with complementary shrubs creates an ever-changing tapestry of colours and textures. For a truly regal touch, consider the Camellia sasanqua 'Paradise Diana', whose delicate blooms echo the elegance of Princess Diana roses and thrive in similar conditions. The Hydrangea Princess Juliana offers lush, season-long colour, while Michelia Princess Cinderella brings heady fragrance and glossy evergreen foliage to your planting scheme. For those interested in collecting royal-themed plants, Leptospermum 'Princess Anne' provides vibrant, pollinator-friendly blooms, and the Rose Blackberry Nip is a modern classic with deep purple flowers that contrast beautifully with the soft pink of Princess Diana.

Planting and Caring for Your Princess Diana Rose

Once you’ve discovered where to buy Princess Diana rose, getting it established is the next step. Roses thrive in well-drained soil with at least six hours of sun each day. Dig a generous hole, add compost, and water deeply after planting. An annual prune in late winter will ensure vigorous new growth and keep your rose blooming profusely. Regular feeding with a balanced rose fertiliser and topping up mulch helps resist disease and maintain rich, healthy foliage all season.
