Why Choose Viburnum Quick Fence for Hedges?

Viburnum Dense Fence stands out among screening plants—and for good reason. The lush, evergreen foliage forms an effective, year-round barrier, giving you peace, privacy, and shelter from wind or unwanted views. If you're hoping to form a viburnum quick fence, you'll find it thrives in most garden soils and responds beautifully to clipping, enabling you to shape a formal or informal hedge to fit your outdoor space. Fast growth means you'll enjoy results far sooner compared to other hedging plants.

Key Features of Viburnum Dense Fence

Fast Establishment: One of the quickest hedging plants to grow, perfect for creating an instant fence.
Dense Foliage: Glossy, dark green leaves develop into a neat, thick screen—even without constant pruning.
Climate-Hardy: Tolerates New Zealand’s varied conditions, from coastal winds to mild frosts.
Low Maintenance: Resistant to most pests and diseases, and will forgive the occasional missed trim.

Design Ideas Using Viburnum Quick Fence

A viburnum quick fence is not only practical; it’s also a showstopper in the garden. Use it to create a green backdrop for colourful perennials or to define outdoor living areas with leafy structure. For a layered look, pair with smaller shrubs such as Viburnum davidii (female) or glossy-leafed options like Viburnum 'Emerald Lustre'. For spring interest, plant near Viburnum bodnantense 'Dawn' for fragrance and flowers, or incorporate with Viburnum opulus Sterile (Snowball Bush) for its iconic blooms.

Planting and Care Tips

Viburnum Dense Fence couldn’t be easier to grow. Plant in well-drained soil, add compost for best results, and water well until established. Plant at 80-100cm intervals for a quick fence effect. Trim lightly after flowering to keep the shape tidy, and feed in early spring to encourage lush new growth. With the right care, your viburnum quick fence will stand strong for years to come.
