Why Choose Star Jasmine as a Ground Cover?

Star Jasmine is renowned for its resilience and adaptability. As a ground cover, it can quickly establish a carpet of glossy, green leaves and delightful star-shaped flowers. Its spreading habit makes it ideal for covering large areas, filling awkward corners, or softening hard landscaping edges. With minimal maintenance, you'll enjoy year-round evergreen foliage and a burst of fragrant flowers in late spring and summer. Star Jasmine is also drought-tolerant once established, making it suited to New Zealand's variable climate.

Planting and Care Tips

Star Jasmine performs best in well-draining soil and prefers a sunny to partially shaded position. Regular watering during its first season helps it establish, but after that, it will tolerate dry periods well. Pruning is simple; just trim back any unwanted growth to keep it tidy and encourage bushiness. Whether you’re planting in beds, borders, or as a living mulch beneath trees, Star Jasmine offers unmatched ease and visual impact.
