What is Peperomia prostrata?

Peperomia prostrata, or String of Turtles, originates from the tropical rainforests of Brazil and thrives indoors as a charming trailing plant. Its petite, succulent-like leaves showcase intricate patterns resembling turtle shells, making it a standout choice for shelf displays, hanging baskets, or terrariums. In NZ, peperomia prostrata is adored because it brings a touch of lush, green whimsy to any indoor space, even during the colder months.

Peperomia prostrata Care Tips in NZ

Caring for peperomia prostrata nz is wonderfully straightforward. This plant prefers bright, indirect light and does best in a well-draining soil mix. NZ’s moderate climate means you can grow it comfortably indoors year-round. Water only when the top layer of soil feels dry, and avoid letting the plant sit in water – this helps prevent root rot. String of Turtles thrives with regular misting, especially during dry spells, but appreciates a dry surface between waterings.
