palm-tree-fertiliser-1

Palm Tree Fertiliser (Palm Tree Fertiliser)

Choosing the correct Palm tree fertiliser is essential for producing better quality foliage, stronger fronds, and a much healthier and brighter looking plant. The Plant Company’s Palm Tree fertiliser has been specifically blended to give 12-months of continuous nutrition and give the tree an initial boost with all right nutrients. Use The Plant Company Indoor Plant Fertiliser for container grown Palms. One kg of fertiliser will adequately fertilise 12 trees for one year. Slightly higher rates can safely be used on large specimens or where you think fertility is low.

Why Choose Palms for Your Garden or Home

Palms are favourites among Kiwi gardeners and houseplant enthusiasts for good reason. Their architectural shapes and resilient nature make them ideal for creating exotic, low-maintenance landscapes. Most palm varieties are drought-tolerant once established, and many adapt well to New Zealand's unique weather. In addition, palms provide important habitat and food for native birds, making them both a beautiful and eco-friendly choice.

Tips for Growing Palm Plants in New Zealand

When you’re browsing palm plants for sale, keep your location in mind. Most palms prefer well-draining soil, regular watering while establishing, and protection from severe frost. For coastal gardens, choose salt-tolerant types like Rhopalostylis sapida. If you’re after an indoor statement plant, Phoenix roebelenii (Dwarf Date Palm) excels in bright, indirect light. Mulching and feeding in spring helps palms maintain lush, healthy foliage throughout the year.
