Why Choose NZ Native Plants for Your Garden?

NZ native plants are renowned for their adaptability to local conditions, making them easier to grow and care for. They bolster native wildlife by providing food and shelter for birds, insects, and pollinators. Using NZ native species in your landscaping also assists in conserving our fragile ecosystems and can reduce your gardening workload thanks to their natural resistance to pests and diseases.

Our Range at the NZ Native Plants Nursery

Our NZ native plants nursery is dedicated to sourcing and nurturing top-quality native flora. We stock a diverse range of groundcovers, shrubs, and climbers suitable for home gardens, lifestyle blocks, and public green spaces. Explore favourites such as the versatile Acaena novae-zelandiae (Piripiri), prized for its ability to spread and stabilise banks and slopes.

If you’re looking for lush, dense foliage with year-round colour, Coprosma kirkii and Coprosma prostrata are excellent choices. These ground-hugging natives are ideal solutions for filling gaps and controlling erosion. For striking texture and glossy green leaves, Coprosma 'Poor Knights' (Taupata) will add a coastal touch to any planting scheme.

Popular Groundcovers and Ornamental Options

Our nursery’s collection features groundcovers like Pratia angulata, a hardy creeper that showcases delicate white starry flowers in spring, perfect for pathways or underplanting larger shrubs. Many of our showcased species are chosen for their ease of care and their crucial role in creating resilient, drought-tolerant gardens.
