Why Choose the My Love Rose Bush for Your Garden

The my love rose bush is valued for its abundant, velvety red blooms. Its upright growth and repeat flowering habit ensure that you’re greeted with blossoms from late spring into autumn. These roses are ideal for creating striking garden borders, adding drama to mixed beds, or producing exquisite cut flowers for your home. With regular pruning and proper feeding, the my love rose bush rewards you with vigorous growth and resilient health.

Rosarians appreciate this variety because it blends classic charm with robust performance, handling New Zealand’s climate with ease. As a romantic gesture, my love rose bush is an inspired choice for gifting—a living expression of love that promises many years of beauty and delight.

Planting and Caring for the My Love Rose Bush

To help your my love rose bush thrive, choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Roses prefer at least six hours of direct sunlight each day. Enhance the soil with compost or well-rotted manure before planting, ensuring good fertility and drainage. It’s best to water deeply once or twice a week, allowing soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Mulching around the base keeps roots cool and helps suppress weeds.

Annual pruning in early winter will encourage new growth and maintain the bush’s shape, while regular feeding throughout the growing season—using a rose-specific fertiliser—promotes abundant flowering. Keep an eye out for aphids or fungal spots and treat promptly with eco-friendly solutions to maintain a healthy and beautiful plant.

Companion Plants and Landscape Ideas

Pairing your my love rose bush with other complimentary plants can elevate your garden design. Consider combining with perennials like Hemerocallis Rose Cherub (Rose Daylily), whose soft pink blooms offer lovely contrast and provide continuous colour during the rose’s resting periods.

For a mixed rose garden, explore fragrant varieties such as Rose Cecil Brunner, appreciated for its clusters of small, delicately scented blooms. If you desire something striking and long-lasting, Rose Diamonds Forever brings unique shimmer and depth to floral displays. Those seeking something a little different may enjoy Rose Simplicity Violet Serenity, with its unusual violet hues, or add foliage colour with Weigela Wine And Roses (Wine & Roses Weigela), ideal for naturalistic borders.
