Why Choose Moon Dance Hydrangea

Moon Dance Hydrangea stands out for its tall, upright habit and abundant white panicles. Reaching up to two metres at maturity, it fills garden beds with lush green foliage and clean white blooms from early summer into autumn. This hydrangea is perfect for brightening up part-shade areas or planting en masse for a luminous effect in the landscape. Unlike mophead types, the Moon Dance Hydrangea’s elongated blooms add an elegant vertical accent and transition beautifully as the season progresses.

Planting and Care Tips

Moon Dance Hydrangea thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soil with some afternoon shade to protect its blooms from harsh sun. Consistent moisture is key—mulching around the root zone helps maintain hydration and keeps roots cool in summer. This variety can be pruned in late winter or early spring to control its size and encourage vigorous flowering. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring to support abundant blooms and robust growth.

Ideas for Garden Design

Pair Moon Dance Hydrangea with other white or pale-blue flowering perennials for a sophisticated, moonlit look that glows at dusk. Try interplanting with Convolvulus Two Moons for a low, silvered groundcover, or the graceful blooms of Hemerocallis Moon Goddess to create a soft, harmonious palette. For mixed shrub borders, consider complementing Moon Dance Hydrangea with Hydrangea Mariesii Perfecta, which introduces gentle blue lacecap blooms, or add height and contrast with Tibouchina 'Blue Moon'.

Comparing Hydrangea Varieties

If you love the performance and elegance of Moon Dance Hydrangea, consider exploring other unique hydrangeas for multi-season interest. The compact Hydrangea 'You Me Together' offers double blooms in soft pinks and blues, perfect for smaller spaces or patio pots. Mixing several hydrangea varieties creates dynamic layers of colour and texture, extending visual interest from early summer through to autumn.
