Why Choose Monstera deliciosa?

Monstera deliciosa’s dramatic, fenestrated foliage brings bold beauty to any space. This classic houseplant doesn’t just look good — it also tolerates lower light, copes well with indoor conditions, and adds a touch of modern, tropical elegance to your decor. Many New Zealanders love Monstera for its hardy nature and fast growth, especially during the warmer months. Plus, with the right care, your Monstera may even produce its unusual edible fruit (hence the name “Fruit Salad Plant”).

How to Care for Your Monstera deliciosa

Monstera deliciosa is famously forgiving, making it ideal for both beginner and seasoned plant enthusiasts. Place your Monstera in bright, indirect light to encourage those signature splits and holes in each leaf. Water moderately, letting the top few centimetres of soil dry between watering. They benefit from occasional feeding during the growing season and enjoy extra humidity (a regular misting works wonders). For more variety, consider adding relatives like Monstera adansonii or Monstera 'Monkey Mask' to your indoor jungle.
