Why Choose Lemon and Lime Nandina

Lemon and Lime Nandina is a fantastic low-maintenance shrub perfect for borders, garden beds, or containers. Unlike traditional nandinas, this cultivar boasts no thorns, making it child and pet-friendly. Its bushy, upright habit reaches around 60 to 80 cm in height, forming a neat mound that requires minimal shaping. With its evergreen foliage and minimal flowering, it stands out through all seasons and brings brightness into partly shaded or sunny garden spots.

Planting and Care Tips

This versatile shrub thrives in well-drained soil and can tolerate a range of positions, from full sun to part shade. Water regularly while establishing, but once settled, Lemon and Lime Nandina is relatively drought tolerant. In spring, a light trim can maintain its shape and encourage new growth, while an annual feed with a general-purpose fertiliser will keep foliage looking its best.

Stunning Plant Combinations

Lemon and Lime Nandina pairs perfectly with darker-foliaged shrubs for high-contrast displays. Consider underplanting with Nandina Obsession for dramatic, rich red tones, or team with Nandina Gulf Stream and Nandina Blush for a layered, multi-hued nandina collection. For textural interest, mix with Hebe Otari Delight (Veronica Otari Delight), or use alongside flowering companions like Azalea Fielders White and Camellia Star Above Star.
