rose-spiced-coffee-2

Rose Spiced Coffee

“Spiced Coffee” is a popular Hybrid Tea shrub rose that features very showy flowers that are pale beige with lavender-pink towards the edges. The fragrant blooms emerge in spring and continue until autumn, provided the spent flowers are removed. The foliage comprises small-sized, dark green leaves which provide a lovely backdrop to the flowers. This deciduous plant typically grows to 1.3 m tall and 1 m wide and is generally pruned each winter with about 75% of the stem removed. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. “Spiced Coffee” is commonly included in a mixed or border planting, included in a courtyard or cottage garden, maintained in a container, or included anywhere the beauty and fragrance can be appreciated.

What Makes Hybrid Tea Rose Bushes Special?

Hybrid tea rose bushes are renowned for their large, pointed buds that open into full, beautifully shaped flowers. Each stem typically bears a single bloom, perfect for showcasing in a vase. This prized characteristic stems from careful breeding, combining the best traits of hybrid perpetuals and tea roses. Not only do these bushes deliver impressive blossoms, but they also offer a long flowering season—often from late spring well into autumn, providing lasting colour and fragrance.

Planting and Caring for Your Hybrid Tea Rose Bush

When planting a hybrid tea rose bush, choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil to promote strong growth and abundant blooms. Roses thrive with at least six hours of sunlight per day, so make sure your site is bright and open. Prepare the soil by enriching it with compost and organic matter, and maintain a generous spacing between bushes for airflow and disease prevention.

Watering is essential, especially during dry spells. Aim for deep but infrequent watering, focusing on the base rather than the foliage. Regular feeding with a balanced rose fertiliser will keep your hybrid tea rose bush healthy and vigorous. Pruning each year encourages fresh growth and flowers, so trim back old stems and remove spent blooms throughout the season.

Choosing Your Ideal Hybrid Tea Rose Bush

The hybrid tea rose bush family offers stunning options in colour, fragrance, and flower form. For gardeners seeking something unique, consider the beautifully scented Rose Spiced Coffee or the rich purple tones of Rose Blackberry Nip. If elegance is what you desire, Rose Diamonds Forever dazzles with its pristine, luminous flowers, while Rose Simplicity Violet Serenity offers gentle tones and graceful form.

Hybrid Tea Rose Bush Companions

To create a harmonious garden design, hybrid tea rose bushes pair beautifully with complementary perennials like daylilies. Consider planting Hemerocallis Rose Cherub (Rose Daylily) nearby for a splash of texture and colour contrast. Daylilies can help suppress weeds and provide visual interest when rose bushes are not in bloom.

Why Choose a Hybrid Tea Rose Bush for Your Garden?

Hybrid tea rose bushes reward gardeners with spectacular, show-stopping flowers and reliable performance throughout the season. Their versatility makes them ideal for beds, borders, or as feature plants. With an assortment of colours and fragrances available, there’s a hybrid tea rose bush suited to every garden style and personal taste. Browse our selection to find the perfect rose that fits your landscape and enjoy the timeless beauty these plants bring year after year.
