Why Choose the Gold Flower Carpet Rose?

Gold flower carpet rose stands apart for its dazzling golden-yellow flowers, which appear in generous clusters across healthy, dark green foliage from late spring right through autumn. This rose is loved for its exceptional ability to flower repeatedly, setting new buds quickly so your garden stays awash with colour for months. Even novice gardeners find success with this variety due to its resilience to common rose diseases, including black spot and mildew, and its tolerance of New Zealand’s diverse weather conditions.

One of the best features of the gold flower carpet rose is its versatility. Whether you want to brighten a low retaining wall, fill a large mixed border, edge a path, or perk up a container on your patio, this rose delivers impact while requiring very little attention. Thanks to its compact, spreading habit, the gold flower carpet rose creates a lush carpet of colour and suppresses weeds as it matures.

Planting and Care Tips

To get the best from your gold flower carpet rose, choose a sunny position with well-draining soil. Add compost or well-rotted manure during planting to give your rose a healthy start. Water regularly during dry spells, especially in its first growing season, but allow the topsoil to dry between waterings to avoid waterlogging.

A big advantage of the gold flower carpet rose is the minimal pruning required. Simply trim back any spent or wayward stems in winter or early spring to tidy its shape and encourage new growth. Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring for the most bountiful display.
