Why Use a Special Fertiliser for Feijoa Trees?

Feijoas are relatively undemanding but are heavy feeders, demanding consistent nutrition throughout the growing season. Standard garden fertilisers can lack the tailored ratio of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium that fruit trees crave. Our Fruit Tree Fertiliser is expertly formulated to release essential macro and micro-nutrients gradually, supporting sturdy trunk development, healthy leaves, and prolific flowering for fantastic harvests.

How to Apply Fruit Tree Fertiliser for Best Results

The best time to apply fertiliser for feijoa trees is in late winter or early spring, just as the buds are swelling. Simply spread Fruit Tree Fertiliser evenly around the drip line of your tree, keep it away from the trunk, and water in well. For juvenile trees, repeat a light application in early summer as well. This ensures your feijoas have ample nutrients just when they need them most. Within a season, you should notice stronger growth, greener leaves, and improved fruit set.

Tips for Thriving Feijoa Trees

Alongside regular feeding, mulch around your tree to conserve moisture and prevent weed competition. Use products like Weedmaster Herbicide - 1 Litre to keep the surrounding area weed-free. If you’re establishing young trees, sturdy support is important—consider our natural Jute Tree Tie. For planting, our quality PB18 Planter Bags (Grow Plant Bags) assist with healthy root development.

Regular pruning using the right tools, such as the Bahco Grafting Knife, encourages strong framework and better yields. Healthy lawns enhance any orchard setting too—explore our Fine Fescue Lawn Seed, Tall Fescue, and Amenity Ryegrass Seed (Lawn Seed) for the perfect ground cover.
