If you’re searching for a vibrant, low-maintenance groundcover that can thrive in shaded areas, creeping thyme is a wonderful option to consider. A creeping thyme lawn shade offers beauty, durability, and eco-friendly benefits to many New Zealand gardens. With its lush green foliage and tiny blooms, creeping thyme delivers a dense mat that resists weeds and requires minimal mowing. While traditional thyme prefers full sun, there are ways to successfully grow creeping thyme lawns in partial shade—and even full shade with thoughtful plant selection and care.

Thymus Ruby Carpet is a variety of Creeping Thyme that carries leaves that are scented, small, and a fresh green colour. Thymus Ruby Carpet is commonly included in herb or cottage gardens, planted between pavers or rocks, used as a groundcover, or allowed to trail over a wall or the like.
