rose-fertiliser-

Rose Fertiliser

Roses respond exceptionally well to rose fertiliser with better quality flowers and foliage, stronger stems, and a much healthier and brighter looking plant. Correct nutrition for roses is important during both establishment and the active growth periods (spring and summer). The Plant Company’s Rose Fertiliser has been specially blended to give 9-months of continuous and correct nutrition and give the plant an initial boost. This fertiliser blend is suitable for all types of roses that are planted outdoors but should not be used with container grown roses (use an indoor plant fertiliser instead). One kg of fertiliser will adequately fertilise 15 roses for one year.

Why Choose a Creeper Rose Plant?

A creeper rose plant is ideal if you’re looking for a fast-growing, low-maintenance solution to cover vertical spaces. Unlike traditional shrub roses, creeper or climbing roses use their flexible canes to weave through supports, adding vertical interest and texture. Their profusion of flowers in shades ranging from delicate pastels to vibrant reds and golds ensures there's a variety for every taste and garden theme.

Best Varieties of Creeper Roses

At our nursery, you’ll find a curated selection of robust rose plants perfect for New Zealand conditions. For vibrant splashes of colour along pathways or over pergolas, consider these popular options:

If you appreciate low-growing creepers, you might also enjoy the vibrant, sun-loving blooms of Portulaca Pazzaz Sunset (Moss Rose Plant), which offers similar trailing beauty for borders or pots.

Growing and Caring for Your Creeper Rose Plant

For the healthiest creeper rose plant, choose a sunny location with well-drained, fertile soil. Roses love at least six hours of sunlight a day and appreciate regular watering at their base to avoid wet foliage. Feed your roses with a high-quality, purpose-formulated Rose Fertiliser in early spring and again after their main flowering flush to encourage continuous, lush blooms.

Training your creeper rose plant is easy with the right supports. Use trellises, arches, or even up tree trunks and posts to direct their graceful stems. Prune after blooming to remove dead wood and shape the plant, which helps maintain vigorous flowering and keeps plants healthy.

Designing With Creeper Roses

Creeper rose plants provide spectacular cover for unsightly fences, are perfect for softening hard landscaping, and bring scent and drama when trained over entrances or gazebos. Their reliable flowering and lush foliage also make them a valuable backdrop for smaller perennials or annual companions.

Incorporate creeper rose plants into your design, and watch as your garden becomes a sanctuary of colour, fragrance, and natural elegance—ready to be enjoyed year after year.

Ready to boost your garden’s appeal? Discover our outstanding selection of creeper rose plants and related varieties like Rose 'Flower Carpet Mini Cherry', Rose Flower Carpet Scarlet, or Rose Flower Carpet Gold, and keep them thriving with our trusted Rose Fertiliser. Happy gardening.
