The flowers come in various shades, including white, pink, and deep red, making it easy to find one that suits your garden aesthetic. The foliage is dark green and lance-shaped, providing year-round appeal.

What truly sets Camellia sasanqua apart is its resilience. These options are just a glimpse into the delightful selections available for those in New Zealand seeking to brighten their landscapes with sasanqua varieties.

Growing and Caring for Camellia Sasanqua

When planting Camellia sasanqua, it’s essential to choose a suitable location and prepare the soil accordingly. Ideally, select a spot that receives dappled sunlight to ensure optimal blooming and growth. Make sure to enrich the soil with organic compost to improve drainage and provide essential nutrients.

Regular watering is crucial, especially during dry spells. However, be cautious not to overwater, as Camellia sasanqua prefers slightly moist but well-drained conditions. Mulching around the base can help retain moisture and suppress weeds, making your gardening experience easier.
